Jupiter, larger than all the other planets in our solar system combined, is known for its colossal storms, notably the Great Red Spot. This gigantic storm has been raging for centuries and is larger than Earth itself.
The Great Red Spot's swirling nature is due to the complex interactions of gases within Jupiter's atmosphere.
Aside from the Great Red Spot, Jupiter's atmosphere contains many smaller storms and cloud bands. These bands are made up of powerful jet streams moving in opposite directions at various latitudes, creating an intricate array of colorful belts and zones.
Some storms last for years while others form and dissipate relatively quickly. Jupiter's fast rotation, completing one day in less than ten hours, contributes to the intensity and persistence of these storms.
